Run/Walk to 5K Training Group

Ready to take the first step toward completing a 5K? Whether you’re new to running, returning after time away, or looking for a supportive group to keep you motivated, the YMCA’s Run/Walk to 5K Training Group is designed to help you reach the finish line with confidence.

Over six weeks, participants will follow a progressive training plan led by Certified Running Coach Dawn Bergquist, building endurance through a combination of walking and running. The program will culminate with participants completing the Krumpes Donut Alley Rallye 5K on August 14.

Participants will:

  • Build endurance through a structured run/walk training plan
  • Learn proper pacing techniques
  • Improve cardiovascular fitness
  • Gain confidence running in a group setting
  • Receive motivation and accountability from fellow participants
  • Prepare for a successful 5K race experience
  • Develop healthy exercise habits that can last a lifetime

Each session includes a guided group workout and training support designed for beginner and intermediate participants.

Tuesdays and Thursdays
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
