The Waynesboro Area YMCA is offering HSI Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training for childcare providers and community members seeking certification. These hands-on courses provide essential lifesaving skills and meet mandatory training requirements for childcare professionals.
Upcoming sessions will be held on May 2, May 9, May 23, and June 5, with courses offered monthly thereafter. Two class options are available:
- 8:00–9:30 AM – Blended Recertification
- 9:30 AM–12:00 PM – Blended Initial Certification
Participants must complete the online blended learning portion prior to attending the in-person session.
What You’ll Learn
This practical training will cover:
- How to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies
- Proper CPR techniques for children and adults
- How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First aid skills for common injuries and sudden illnesses
Certification Details
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, valid for two years.
