SilverSneakers® is a preventative exercise program that enhances the quality of life for mature adults across the country. One of the largest senior-focused exercise program in the United States, this partnership between HCD and HMOs allows Medicare-eligible members of these health plans to join the Y programs at no additional cost. Silver & Fit® & Active & Fit

Silver & Fit® and Active & Fit provides eligible members with no-cost memberships through arrangements with certain health care plans. Both plans are designed to help seniors achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Visit or for more information.

Renew Active™ by UnitedHealthcare

 Renew Active™ from UnitedHealthcare, is available with select Medicare Advantage plans. Designed around you and your goals, Renew Active offers access to the  Y.   If you have questions about the program, please call the Customer Service number printed on the back of your health plan ID card.

The Y also offers SilverSneakers® fitness classes specifically designed for older adults of all fitness levels, including cardio workouts, strength training, and yoga. SilverSneakers® classes are open to all Y members.


Work on basic strengthening exercises from the seated position. The focus is on strengthening muscles and increasing range of motion without impact or over exertion. Chairs are provided. Specifically designed to meet the physical needs of seniors. 13 years and older.


The SilverSneakers® Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers® ball.  A chair is available for support. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants. 13 years and older.


Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness levels. 13 years and older.
