Congratulations to the WAVES Swim Team for hosting another fantastic Strokes, Spokes & Strides Triathlon this past Saturday!

It was a truly inspiring day—filled with determination, teamwork, and community spirit. Our athletes showed incredible dedication, putting in countless hours of training to prepare for this event. Their hard work, perseverance, and passion were on full display from the first swim stroke to the final stride. 💪

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the volunteers, staff, safety personnel, and the entire Waynesboro community for keeping everyone safe and helping the event run smoothly. Your encouragement and support created such a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all.

STROKES, SPOKES and STRIDES

Strokes, Spokes & Strides is a sprint distance triathlon located in beautiful Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. The inaugural event was held in 2015 as a celebration of the Waynesboro Area YMCA 100 year anniversary. Our goal was to create an event that would promote community spirit and welcome all levels of athlete.

The triathlon course can be completed as an individual or as part of a three person relay team. Athletes of all levels are encouraged to compete – experienced cross trainers, families as well as first time competitors.

The triathlon start, swim, transition area and finish are located at the Y. The swim portion of the event is held in the Y’s six-lane, 25meter pool; the bike and run routes will take athletes through tree lined neighborhoods and farmland throughout Waynesboro.

We’re also excited to offer two additional race day events: Aquavelo (swim/bike) and Duathlon (run/bike/run).

Event: Strokes, Spokes & Strides Triathlon (sprint distance)
Distance: 300 meter swim, 13 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Date/Time: Saturday, June 8, 2023 – race begins at 8 a.m.
Location: Waynesboro Area YMCA, Waynesboro PA
Age: 15 & up.
* Aquavelo (Swim+Bike only): 300 meter swim, 13 mile bike
**Duathlon (Run+Bike+Run): 1.5 mile run, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run
